Frozen shoulder occurs due to inflammation, swelling, and thickening of the shoulder joint capsule, causing pain during movement and increased pain when attempting to raise the arm overhead.

 

Commonly affects individuals aged 50-60, with women experiencing symptoms more frequently than men.

Causes of frozen shoulder: Often results from shoulder injuries, including accidents, injuries affecting shoulder tendons, labrum, and surrounding structures such as muscles.

Frozen shoulder related to other physical conditions:
Can be associated with conditions like diabetes, thyroid disorders, and other diseases causing excessive scar tissue formation due to tendon inflammation.

Exercise 1: Hold for 10-20 seconds.
Step 1: Extend one arm to the side.
Step 2: Use the other arm to cross the extended arm.
Step 3: Pull the arm as far as possible to stretch the shoulder.

Exercise 2: Hold for 10-20 seconds.
Step 1: Place the left arm at a right angle against a wall.
Step 2: Use the other hand to support against the wall.
Step 3: Gently press the shoulder closer to the wall.

Exercise 3: Hold for 10 seconds.
Step 1: Raise the right arm, bend the right elbow behind the head.
Step 2: Reach the left hand behind the back to grasp the right hand (use a cloth if needed).
Step 3: Point the right elbow upward close to the ear, keep the left elbow close to the body.
Step 4: Lift the chest, straighten the back, feel the stretch in the inner arm, then switch sides.

Exercise 4: Hold for 10-20 seconds.
Step 1: Stand straight, clasp hands behind the back.
Step 2: Slowly lift the arms until a stretch is felt in the shoulder.
